NMC-1 Program

The NMC-1 Standard

When a part fails in the field, a copy isn’t always enough. The NMC-1 designation identifies products where NMC engineers have re-engineered the original OEM design — not just replicated it. Each NMC-1 product meets or exceeds the original specification in every respect that matters for service life.

GE LRT-200 Series — Complete Remanufacture
The NMC-1 LRT-200 is re-engineered at the component level. Every wear surface, contact interface, and spring specification reviewed and improved. 26 NMC-1 products in the current catalog.
Beyond Replacement — An Improvement
NMC-1 products carry an amber star designation in the catalog. If an NMC-1 version exists for your application, it is the preferred choice.

The Powerswitch Advantage

Powerswitch was born in 1989 out of a recognized gap: transit authorities needed a manufacturer who understood DC traction power as an engineering discipline, not just a parts catalog. Over 35 years and 10,000+ switches, we have built that expertise into everything we make.

We build it all. Switchboards (not switchgear). Emergency trip systems. Gate and lift interlocks. Bug and stinger plug-in power gear. Load break switches. Ritter disconnectors. Heater cases. Fused disconnects. TWC track circuits. And all controls for all of the above.

Fully vertically integrated: CNC milling, water jet cutting, tumbling, finishing, plating, soldering, fiberglass enclosure fabrication, and final assembly — all in-house. Sole North American distributor of Ritter load break switches.
